The WAEVE – Love Is All Pain

The WAEVE – Love Is All Pain

“Love Is All Pain” arrives as a perfectly timed anti-Valentine’s offering from The WAEVE, showcasing the evolving chemistry between Graham Coxon and Rose Elinor Dougall. The track, produced by James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Blur), leads their upcoming three-track EP ‘Eternal,’ set for digital release on March 14th via Transgressive.

The single blends throbbing electro synths with the duo’s vocals, creating a compelling meditation on love’s complexities: “Oh! Love is all pain / Thought I’d escaped it / But I need it again / It’s hard, it’s hard / It’s harder than hell.” I

The track follows their acclaimed albums “The WAEVE” (2023) and “City Lights” (2024). What began as a chance meeting backstage at a charity concert in 2020 has blossomed into both a musical partnership and a personal one.

Shot entirely on black and white 8mm film, the accompanying video directed by Simon Leeder pays homage to late 1980s post-punk synth aesthetics.
